Okra In The Oven


This garlic and tomatoes baked okra is an incredibly delicious dish. Tender baked okra with lots of garlic, tomatoes, onions, and flavorful seasonings; this recipe is sure to become one of your favorites. When the key ingredient okra is cooked just right it will bring out the best in this vegetable and become a tasty mainstay in your recipe repertoire.

 Preparation

Step 1

We need to first prepare the ingredients on the stove by placing your deep pan on medium heat and adding the olive oil and then meat (you can leave out the meat for a vegetarian dish). Cook the meat for 10 minutes on each side and then add the onions, garlic, and green chilies. Mix everything for 10 minutes. 


Step 2

Add the okra, tomatoes, and tomato sauce to the pan. Then add all of the spices (salt, black pepper, and 7 spices). Add 2 cups of water to the pan and mix well. Cover the pan and leave it for 20 minutes on medium heat.


Step 3

Turn on the oven to 450F. Cover your pan with aluminum foil and leave in the oven for 30 minutes.


Step 4

Optional to uncover it and broil the top of the tray for about 10 minutes.


Optional to eat this with Pita bread or Porota. You can even make some white rice to eat with it instead.
