Shawarma Salad
This chicken shawarma bowl is made with a warm spice blend and served over salad with tahini sauce. Easy to make with simple ingredients- the result is a tender and juicy, but healthy dish. Enjoy this authentic Middle-Eastern shawarma recipe.
Ingredients
The ingredients below will accommodate 2-4 servings
Ingredients to marinate the chicken:
Chicken breast tenderloin 2-4 lbs.
Olive oil
2 cloves of garlic
Salt
Pepper
Orange and lemon juice
1/2 lemon
1/2 onion (Mix it with salt and sumac)
1/2 cup of yogurt
1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
Shawarma seasoning
Ingredients for salad:
Roman lettuce
Cherry tomatoes
2 Cucumber
1 onions
Pickles
Optional- 2 Pita bread and pinch of parsley (To fry and garnish the dish).
Ingredients for the sauce
2 table spoon of mayonnaise
4 table spoon of tahini sauce
1 tsp of salt
1 table spoon of lime juice
Preparation
Step 1
Put the chicken in a deep pot and add all of the ingredients of the marinade. Mix well and marinate at least for 2 hours (the more you marinate the better).
Step 2
Using a frying pan add some olive oil and the marinated chicken. Cook on medium heat for about 20-30 minutes.
Step 3
Using a flat tray add the chopped lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, onions, and pickles. Add the chopped chicken on top.
Step 4
Mix the sauce ingredients together and drizzle over the dish.
